Notes:

This very rare Argosy was part of the Milestones of Flight Museum. The museum has now gone, but its planes are still sat outside slowly rotting away.

This aircraft started life in the RAF as XP447 in 1962, very likely at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire. My farther was posted to Benson in the same year to joint the conversion unit having just returned from RAF Changi in Singapore after a two and half year stint with 48 squadron flying the Hastings. There was a simulator for this a/c and I had the opportunity to have a look one Saturday morning. The main windscreen was a TV and around the back was a large rolling map of the airfield with a camera that was operated by the controls. I had never seen anything link it. Not even close to todays PC games! A couple of other things the noise cone is missing and I think it my have been a C1 not a C2. Peter Baldwin
