Notes:

After construction in the mid-1970s, this F-5E was shipped aboard a C-5 to England where it joined the 527th Tactical Fighter Training and Aggressor Squadron. In preparation for use as an aggressor, it was painted into a camouflage scheme mimicking common Soviet paint jobs, most notably the last two digits of the serial number. Since international law requires that military aircraft wear their national insignia, that of the USAF was made smaller and moved aft to make it less visible. After more than a decade of exhaustive flying with the 527th, this aircraft was given to the US Navy, with whom it served until the mid-2000s. It was then retired and placed on display here in McMinnville. Incidentally, the 527th was reorganized in 2020 and is now part of the US Space Force.
