[1600px] Preserved at Italian Air Force museum of Vigna di Valle. Designed by Eng. Ermanno Bazzocchi, the MB.326 trainer was one of the most acclaimed Italian industrial successes of the postwar period having been produced in more than 600 units, sold in more than fifty countries and produced under license in Australia, Brazil and South Africa. Testing of the "Macchino" began on 10 December 1957 and the following year this aircraft set 9 world records for its category. The I.A.F. bought 135 MB.326 and starting from 1962 these airplanes equipped, for about twenty years, the Aviogetti Initial Flight School (SVBIA) in Galatina (Lecce). The "Macchino" was mainly used for basic flight training. In 1967 a new version was developed, the MB.326G and the Italian Air Force purchased the two prototypes which it tested at the Pratica di Mare Experimental Flight Department. The operational life of the "326" ended in the second half of the 1990s after being used as a liaison aircraft.
