Notes:

[1600px] Preserved at Italian Air Force museum of Vigna di Valle. In February 1952 the Republic flew the prototype of the reconnaissance version of the “Thunderstreak”, the RF-84F, destined to be produced in over 700 units. While drawing the similarity with the aircraft from which it was derived, the "Thunderflash" had significant structural differences compared to the F-84F such as, for example, the split air intakes, made necessary to allow accommodation, in the front section of the fuselage , of a rich aerial photographic equipment, for years the most complete and sophisticated available on board a NATO tactical aircraft. On behalf of MDAP (Mutual Defense Air Program) the Italian Air Force received a total of 78 RF-84F which, assigned to the 3rd Aerobrigata of Villafranca (VR), were employed until 1974. The model on display is an RF-84F-31RE of the 18th Group of the 3rd Aerobrigata of Villafranca.
