This MD-10 was involved in a hijack attempt on 4/7/94, Federal Express 705, a deadheading flight engineer attempted to kill the operating crew with a spear gun & hammer, and then crash the aircraft in order to earn his family a life insurance payout from FedEx. The operating crew was able to fight him off & in doing so rolled the aircraft nearly inverted & reached almost transonic speeds before safely landing. Interestingly enough I took this photo on the exact 26th anniversary of that fateful flight
