Notes:

Preserved at Italian Air Force museum of Vigna di Valle. Born to replace the Ro.1 aircraft with specific aerial reconnaissance tasks, the Ro.37 is part of the vehicle enhancement program launched by the Italian Air Force in the early 1930s. Ro.37, designed by Eng. Galasso and built by the ROMEO Aeronautical Industries, which later became Southern Aeronautical Mechanical Industries (IMAM), came on line in 1935. Its first employment took place in 1936 in Spain with the Legionary Aviation and during the 2nd G.M. was the standard armed reconnaissance aircraft of the Auxiliary Aviation for the Royal Army, remained in active service until June 1943. The two versions of Ro.37 differed fundamentally in the propulsion system: while the Ro.37 had a FIAT A30 in-line engine RA bis from 550 HP, the Ro.37 bis mounted a Piaggio P.IX R.C. 40 from 560CV. The specimen on display, found by italian troops in Afghanistan in 2006, was part of a batch of aircraft sold to the Afghan Kingdom in 1938. In 2011 a radical restoration was started, carried out by the Italian Air Force and by the specialists of CELIN AVIO, which brought in the space of just one year to the complete recovery of the aircraft and its presentation to the public on 21 January 2012 at the Park and Museum of Flight Volandia. From 15 October of the same year it is exhibited at the Historical Museum of the Air Force.
