Notes:

Can a casual friday noon at a ”countryside airport” get any better than this? ”Volga 4800” seen here departing runway 16, bound for Novosibirsk-Tolmachevo (UNNT). The sight, the sound, and the smell of burnt jet fuel in the air! It can hardly subjectwise get any better than this, at least not here at Vaasa. A fleeting moment which seemed almost unreal after all the silence at Vaasa airport lately. It was a true mega-rare visitor, last decade only had two IL-76 visits at Vaasa! This mighty machine arrived the day earlier on a ferry flight from Bangor (KBGR) to pick up an engine or generator of some sort, manufactured by Wärtsilä and assumingly destined for the Philippines, unless it was dropped off at Novosibirsk. An incredible experience for me, the IL-76 has to be one of my favorite flying machines of all time! This was the second time I managed to catch one at Vaasa. (1920px)
