1st Lunar Eclipse of the decade coincided with a Supermoon (when the Moon is closest to Earth in its orbit). I booked a SMF-SEA-FAI-DFW-SMF ticket to catch a glimpse of the event in the early morning hours on the red-eye FAI-DFW flight, also my 1st flight on the A321neo. The Sharklet reflects the dawn colors in the eastern sky, as well as the beacon light. As the Earth's shadow passed over half the Moon, the captain came on the PA and told everyone about this unique spectacle.
