Boneyard to Burial? Tail detail of RAAF 6 Squadron F-111G A8-272, with ‘Boneyard Wrangler’ logo, displayed at the 2001 Avalon International Airshow (with sister-ship A8-281 at rear right) on 18Feb2001. A8-272 was the sole RAAF F-111G to come from the Davis-Monthan (DMA) ‘Boneyard’. RAAF F-111 operations ceased on 03Dec2010, when Final Flights took place at Amberley. On 22Nov2011, 23 RAAF F-111 fuselages were buried in the Swanbank landfill site near Ipswich QLD, including A8-272.
