Built in 1949, the Prentice was the RAF’s first side-by-side trainer. Joined civvie street as G-AOPL before being sold on 20 October 1967 to an owner in South Africa. It made an emergency landing on the freeway near Halfway House on 19 August 1968 and became derelict at Wonderboom Airport. It was given to the SAAF Museum in 1974 and stored at various locations before ending up, only partially restored in its original RAF markings, at Swartkop. As AT6C says it was disposed of to a person unknown in the early 2000's.
