[Full HD/1920px] One will find this sleek Northrop T-38A formerly operated by Portuguese Air Force on static display, saluting those who arrive or leave the city of Alverca via the A1 or A9 highways. This monument celebrates the Centenary of Aviation in Alverca (1918-2018) and was inaugurated on June 23rd, 2019. The T38 was Portugal’s first military supersonic aircraft. Portuguese Air Force had 6 of these frames delivered in 1977, and other 6 delivered 3 years later. The whole fleet of 12 T-38A was withdrawn in 1993. Google Earth coordinates: 38.891502, -9.047808.
