First registration of X3237. The HPT-32 Deepak ("Lamp" in Sanskrit) is an Indian propeller driven primary trainer aircraft. It was manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India. The student and the instructor sit side-by-side. The aircraft can accommodate one passenger. The length of the aircraft is 7.7m, wingspan is 9.5m and height is 2.9m. It can achieve a maximum speed of 280 kmph. The aircraft has a range of 1400km with its fuel capacity. The aircraft was manufactured in the year 1977 and was decommissioned from service in the year 2009. The aircraft was the backbone of ab-initio training of the Indian Air Force. It was used for the first stage flying training of all the three services of the Indian Armed Forces. This particular aircraft is kept for display at Veli Tourist Village near to Trivandrum International Airport, Kerala.
