Delivery flight of the very first 2 newly constructed Typhoons for Saudi Arabia, transitting through Malta. This production batch of Typhoons Tranche 2 was originally intended for the RAF, who now will have to wait further for receiving the required numbers of Typhoons Tranche 2, to soften the overstretching looming problem mainly due to the iminent F3s retirement. However others say that there is a good side to all this - as when the RAF eventually starts to receive new airframes again, they will be the much anticipated Tranche 3 - the ultimate multi-role (air defence / ground attack strike/ Close air support) fully integrated and operational version.
